We booked as an “in between” stop on our way back home from a holiday and what an awesome choice it was!! In the evening you are going to take great pictures of the castle which is lit. And in the morning- most beautiful breakfast with stunning views and rising sun down the valley. Do make sure to visit the Schloss Johannisberg with wine tastings and shop. Great place!

Nothing to complain about the room size and equipment. The breakfast is also good and especially the view from the breakfast room is hard to beat. Would also comeback for a romantic getaway.|Nice winemakers are also close by. If it wasn’t for the price I would warmly recommend this to everyone

Very very poor service. We booked via a 3rd party but that should not matter. I contracted Covid 4 days prior to our stay. We contacted them and asked if we could alter the booking by 2 weeks and they flat out told us they could not be flexible and we would have to just loose our money. 200 Euros down the drain even though they had rooms available 2 weeks later at the same price. Customer service non existent! I never been treated this badly by a supposedly high class hotel. Edit: The hotel replied to this review and added nothing new. Expedia and check 24 told us it was at the hotels discresion as to allow us to change dates or get a refund, they declined to do this. This is poor service. The rate we were charged was not the cheapest rate. I have stayed at 5 star hotels such as the Ritz Carlton and St. Regis in the past and have fairly often been allowed to change my booking by them even when the room was booked by Expedia and was a cheaper rate. The Ritz or St. Regis this hotel is NOT, polite and customer service driven this hotel is NOT.

Our stay was wonderful with the only negative thing being, not having a longer stay! We're an American couple new to Germany and living in Düsseldorf, so this was a perfect anniversary trip after visiting Mainz. The scenery and ambiance were relaxing and romantic, food was fresh and tasty, wine was great, and service was fantastic. Very clean rooms and beautiful grounds.

great hotel in a amazing setting in the vineyards. Great staff and service with severl good restaurants as well. Very close to severla wineries with wine tatsing available. The restaurants have a beautiful view looking over the vineyards all the way down to the river. We sat on the outdoor deck and had a delightful evening meal.
